EMERGENCY services dealt with a two-vehicle crash on the A338 near Fordingbridge this morning.

Two elderly people, one male and one female, had to be cut free from their Volkswagen Polo after the collision with a Toyota Land Cruiser.

The crash happened just after 8.30am, near North Gorley, close to the New Forest Water Park, closing the road in both directions. The road has since been re-opened. 

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was called into action but the pair were taken to Salisbury District Hospital by road ambulance, suffering from minor injuries.

Crews from Hampshire Fire and Rescue were called to the scene extricate the couple from Polo.

Emergency services were called at 8.44am.

Just driven that way... it's NOT Bickton crossroads. There are big lorries driving down the country lanes ... and impatient drivers using their horns... Why??? There's been an accident for goodness sake. Surely the priority is for the people who were involved in it!

No not at all, they should get it right. nearly every report has an error. If the echo had some respect they would spend that extra minute making sure its all correct not blasting the keyboard at 100 mph to get the story out!
