Diverted Airbus lands at Bournemouth

A BRITISH Airways flight destined for London Gatwick has landed at Bournemouth Airport this morning.

The A319 Airbus, which took off from the Cote D'Azur Airport in Nice, was diverted and landed at around 8.30am.

A spokesman for the airport said bad weather at Gatwick was the cause of the diversion of flight BA2621 and said an Easyjet flight from Jersey is also due to land at Bournemouth instead of Gatwick this morning.

Thunder storms in the Gatwick area have led to flights being diverted to a number of different UK airports.

I hope the ATC at Hurn, ooops sorry Bmth International Airport, can cope! They are already stretched to the limit with up to 10 or more planes landing an hour (or should that be day?)

Well at least they got to experience how ineffective our roads are around here with the crashes, jams, and not to mention the luxury of the airport itself!

oww, my mistake.... not even easyjet have make their passengers suffer that, arriving to Gatwick only 14 minutes late, quoting "This flight has diverted to Bournemouth due to thunderstorms over London Gatwick which has prevented the aircraft from arriving. We plan to continue once the weather improves. Whilst this is out of our control we apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Does this mean they didn't have to pay the £2.50 drop off/pick up charge then?

There are airport users other than Ryanair/Thomson you know! I've always found ATC at Bournemouth to be great
