TWO schoolchildren had a lucky escape after they were rescued clinging to a marker buoy having being swept out to sea from Sandbanks beach.
The children were spotted by a member of the public who dialled 999 just before 4pm to report seeing them struggling in the current and having managed to grab hold of the buoy in Poole harbour entrance.
Poole RNLI Lifeguards dispatched a jet ski from Sandbanks beach, which picked the children up and returned them safe and well to the beach.
