Tim Spring said again: "All persons are now accounted for, which is very good news. It's really importrant that if you have got fire doors, particularly in a flat, that they are kept closed at all times."

The South Western Ambulance service have confirmed people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation but didn't have to be taken to hospital.

We've been speaking to Tim Spring, Fire Area Commander: "We are still searching the premises. The fire spread out of the flat and into the means of escape which were compromised which is why we had to rescue two adults and three children from the neighbouring flat on the third floor of the building using the aerial platform.

"They suffered no injuries although they were clearly quite distressed. The fire has been extinguished, the cause is currently being investigated."
