TRAFFIC was slow on the A31 at lunchtime after a two-vehicle crash.
The incident, which was reported to Hampshire Police at 10.39am this morning, has taken place on the eastbound carriageway heading towards Southampton at Picket Post.
The vehicles blocked part of the outside lane.
A force spokesperson said there were no details of any injuries at this stage but the ambulance service had been called.
There were delays of up to 30-minute but traffic has since eased although the road is likely to be especially busy all day with traffic information company Inrix warning that today is set to be one of the busiest days of the year on the roads, with the big getaway at the start of the school summer holidays getting under way.
With the current hot weather, roads in and out of Dorset are set to be packed with both those heading for the coast and those venturing away on holiday.
The A31, A35 and the A338 Bournemouth Spur Road were among the busiest routes as people flocked to the seaside.
