THE travellers in Poole’s Baiter Park were served with an eviction notice by Borough of Poole yesterday lunchtime.

The legal notice gives the unauthorised encampment until midday today to leave the area.

Yesterday, Borough of Poole environmental and consumer protection team leader Jeff Morley said: “An officer attended court this morning where an eviction order was granted for the vans currently at Baiter Park.

“This order will be served today, after which the group has 24 hours to leave the site.”

The encampment consists of eight caravans.
