A FOOTBALL juggler and roller-skating family are just two of the acts in a world-famous circus show which has arrived in Poole.

The Moscow State Circus has rolled into Branksome Recreation Ground, off Alder Road, for the first time in seven years bringing with it a brand new show, Park Gorkogo (Gorky Park), running each day until July 29.

It also features a flying trapeze, clowns, pole jugglers, hand balancing and the revolving aerial ring, to amaze and entertain audience members.

Paul Archer, one of the circus’ directors, said the performers are really excited about bringing their show to the area.

He added: “Bournemouth is a big town and it has such beautiful beaches, so they love to come back and visit.

“We just believe that it’s a world-class show with genuine artists who have trained for four years at the circus school in Moscow before they could perform to the public.

“We have always tried to bring something unique to the shows so that every time people come to see The Moscow State Circus, they are seeing something that they have never seen before.

“Danger is always a factor and it is part of the appeal of coming to see the circus, so there are always several elements of that in every production.”

Kusha Veslovskaya, 22, who is part of the Bathing Beauties act within the production, is the fifth generation of her family to be involved with the circus.

She said: “I hope there is a little bit of the show that is of interest to everyone, as there is something a little bit glamorous, a bit of danger, and we also have the clown as well. The circus culture in Moscow is traditional and very big so we try to bring that into our performances.”

The Moscow State Circus is looking for a new open space to bring its next show to, which is based closer to Bournemouth town centre.
