We've had another picture back from our photographer who is at the scene of the accident on Pinecliff Road after a man in his 40s suffered life-threatning injuries in an accident involving a lorry. Read the latest in our story here

This piece has just been filed from our chief reporter in Poole:

A MAN has been rushed to hospital with suspected life changing injuries after his arm was crushed beneath a truck.

The middle-aged man was taken by ambulance to Southampton Hospital with a police escort following the incident around 2.20pm at Pinecliffe Road near Branksome Beach.

The road has been closed from the junction with Beach Road and Western Road and is likely to remain closed for some time.

The pedestrian suffered significant injuries to his right arm and was trapped underneath the Travis Perkins truck.

Firefighters were called to free him. Paramedics and police were also at the scene.

Our traffic feed is reporting Pinecliff Road is closed both ways due to the incident between Western Road and Westminster Road / Lakeside Road. It says the road is likely to be closed for most of the afternoon for investigation work.

We're hearing reports of an incident on Pinecliff Road in Poole. We've heard the road has been closed and a man is believed to be trapped under a lorry. We'll have more information for you as we get it.

Borough of Poole have told us the Twin Sails Bridge is going to be closed for traffic until further notice while they continue to work on the bearing problem.

From our Poole office: the Twin Sails bridge is out of action for routine maintenance on a bearing, but will be back in action by 2pm, we're told.
