VOLUNTEERS and staff at Swanage Railway are celebrating after winning a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence.

The online resource, that works by inviting members of the public to review tourist attractions, pubs and restaurants, received nearly 600 reviews on the rebuilt heritage line.

Of these, more than two thirds were rated excellent.

Swanage Railway company chairman Peter Sills said: “Everyone is absolutely delighted to have won this prestigious and coveted Trip Advisor award. It is a wonderful recognition of all the hard work that our staff put into giving our passengers the best day out possible. Customer feedback is key to the Swanage Railway improving still further its high customer standards.”

The award-winning railway, which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, carries 210,000 passengers a year.

Railway general manager Richard Jones said: “Achieving a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence is a great credit to our team of dedicated volunteers and staff who work very hard to deliver an enjoyable and memorable visit for many passengers throughout the year.”
