Chatty man Alan Carr posed for selfies and ate fish and chips on Bournemouth beach last week.

The comedian was visiting the town with The Mighty Boosh star Noel Fielding on Friday, July 11 to shoot a segment for his new series.

Accompanied by a representative of Bournemouth council’s tourism team, the pair went to Harry Ramsden’s on the seafront to order fish and chips, before enjoying their lunch at the end of the pier.

Alan, who was born in Dorset and is most famous for his eponymous Channel 4 talk show, appeared in good spirits as he joined Noel on the carousel at Pier Approach.

Fans took to Twitter to spread the word of the appearance and a number asked them to appear in pictures with them.

Thomas Davis posted a picture of the duo aboard the carousel and told Alan on the social media site that it looked like he was having fun.

Opportunistic Hollye-Anne McKenzie, 22, from Poole, snapped a shot of herself with Alan.

She Tweeted: “Cheeky selfie with @AlanCarr on Bournemouth pier whilst 'hard at work'.”

A spokesman for the council said after the pair left Bournemouth beach they went to a beach hut at Alum Chine before Alan had to dash off to attend a performance in Eastleigh.

After parting ways, Alan sent Noel a tender thank you message on Twitter.

He said: “Thank you so much for a wonderful day – I will never forget our cosy carousel ride in Bournemouth x”
