- The 10th Bourne Free Festival continues on Saturday with a parade starting at 11am from the centre of Bournemouth, stalls in the Lower Gardens from 12.30pm to 4.30pm, plus performances by Mischa B, Damage and Kimberley Wyatt from the Pussycat Dolls. On Sunday the local Metropolitan Community Church provide an open air service for all between 12noon and 2pm.
- Over 50 acts are lined-up to play the Swanage Jazz Festival which takes place at various venues throughout the town until Sunday.
- Corfe Castle will be taking part in the national Festival of Archaeology, which kicks off on Saturday.
- The 14th Grooves on the Green Festival takes place in Ashley Cross on Saturday and Sunday.
- There will be floats galore on Saturday when Upton Carnival takes place.
- Hundreds of swimmers will take part in Bournemouth Pier To Pier Swim on Sunday.
- Thailand comes to Christchurch on Saturday and Sunday with the Amazing Thailand Festival.
- Upton Carnival takes place on Saturday, with the procession starting at Factory Road at 1pm.
- The Asahi British Beach Polo Championships return to Sandbanks on Friday and Saturday.
- Wacky racers will be taking part in the British Pedal Car Grand Prix in Ringwood on Sunday.
- More than 250 people will take part in the Brownsea Island swim on Sunday.
- Dorset’s famous Seafood Festival takes place in Weymouth this weekend.

Music fans have been flocking to Purbeck today for the 25th Swanage Jazz Festival.
Artistic director Fred Lindop says around 1,000 people have turned out today to listen to a mix of styles and that people were lining the streets this morning for the brass band parade.
He said: "Arun Ghosh in particular has really struck a chord with the crowds."

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "It appears that the vehicle has struck the scaffolding while parking.
"Scaffolders are on their way to make everything safe before we open the road again."
Apparently traffic isn't too badly affected at the moment.

There were some fantastic fireworks off both Bournemouth and Boscombe Piers last night.
The free event, sponsored by the Coastal Activity Park, saw both piers simultaneously illuminated for one night only.

We're all gearing up for a busy weekend. Reporters and photographers will be in as many places as humanly possible this weekend.
That's the end of our live coverage for today but we'll be bringing you all the action from across the weekend on Saturday and Sunday.

Swanage Railway celebrates its 35th anniversary this weekend with a special gala. The commemorative ‘Swanage 35’ gala takes place over the railway’s five-and-a-half miles of re-laid line.
Steam enthusiasts will have the chance to travel on service trains hauled by the scratch built A1 Pacific steam locomotive ‘Tornado’ during the two-day event.
The special weekend gala will also feature the Purbeck line’s home fleet of locomotives.
On Sunday, more than 250 people will take part in the 6.5km Brownsea Island swim in Poole Harbour, which has been organised by RLSS Poole Lifeguard.
Around 50,000 people are expected to descend on Weymouth’s Old Harbour this weekend for the annual celebration of all things fishy.
Dorset’s Seafood Festival takes place 10.30am to 6pm on Saturday and 11am to 5.30pm Sunday.
The programme includes a Fish Auction is aid of the Fishermen’s Mission, a ‘Ready, Steady Fillet’ show and a host of talks by top chefs.
This year’s chef and expert line up includes John Wright from River Cottage and Dorset’s Michelin chef from Sienna restaurant, Russell Brown.

Hundreds of swimmers are set to take the plunge on Sunday to raise money for charity when the annual Bournemouth Pier To Pier Swim takes place.
The event is the biggest charity swim in Europe and also one of the British Heart Foundation’s biggest fundraisers.
Swimmers will set out for the 1.4mile swim from Bournemouth Pier and will make their way to the finish line at Boscombe Pier.

The procession will leave Factory Road at 1pm and is set to arrive at the recreation ground at around 2.15pm where there will also be live bands, childrens’ entertainment, stalls and demonstrations until 6pm.
The weather forecast appears to be improving! Last time we looked it said sunny spells for Saturday and rain on Sunday but according to the Met Office things are looking up.
For Saturday it says: cloudy conditions and outbreaks of rain will gradually spread eastwards through the day. However, eastern parts should remain mostly dry until the evening, with further warm sunny spells. Maximum Temperature 24C.
Sunday will start cloudy and damp, but will become fine and dry with some sunshine.

The general theme is ‘Dance Fever’ so there should be lots of colourful floats taking part.
Categories for awards include best walking entry, best youth float and best float.
Participants will park up at Sandford Lane, near the town’s railway station, at 2pm, before making their way through the town centre to Wareham Quay at 3pm.
Friday night fireworks are back with a bang tonight! To kick off the return of the popular event there will be not one but two firework displays with Bournemouth and Boscombe Piers lit up simultaneously.
Starting at 6pm visitors can expect to enjoy fire performances, circus workshops and even stilt walkers before the main event at 10pm.

On Saturday as part of the Bourne Free Festival there will be entertainment and stalls in the Lower Gardens and a host of acts will be performing at the Bandstand.
Former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, 90s boyband Damage and X-Factor semi-finalist Misha B are set to perform in the Triangle Arena. Revellers must purchase a wristband to access the area.

In the Triangle Arena tonight entry is free and open to all ages. There will be performances by Madonna, Lady Gaga & Rhianna tribute acts, plus an open air screening of Shark Tale.
On Saturday there will be a parade which will start at 11am on the East Overcliff Drive on Saturday before making its way through the town and finishing up at the Triangle.
