A NEW general manager has been appointed to run the Cobbs Quay marina at Hamworthy, Poole.

Neil Salter will be responsible for daily operations at the 1,090 berth marina, ensuring it continues to offer berth holders and visitors the best in customer service and high quality facilities.

He will also be responsible for driving further development and investment in the site which is situated in Holes Bay.

Neil said: “I’m excited to be taking on this role and looking forward to the opportunities and challenges that managing the company’s largest marina will bring.”

He joined MDL, Europe’s leading marina group, in 1998 and has previously managed seven marinas, including Sant Carles in Catalonia, the company’s first venture outside the UK.

“Cobb’s Quay Marina is situated in a beautiful location, one of the largest natural harbours in the world, with first-class facilities,” he said.

Neil holds the internationally recognized Certificated Marina Manager qualification awarded by the Global Marine Institute, as well as an NVQ in management and a diploma in Industrial and Operations Management.

He has also provided marina consultancy support in Spain, France and Italy on behalf of MDL.
