A POOLE hospice’s Tie a Yellow Ribbon Appeal has raised more than £3,500 making it the most successful year ever.

Forest Holme Hospice began the annual appeal in 2007 and the money raised will help fund specialist care for people living with advanced cancer and other serious illnesses in Poole, Wimborne and Purbeck.

It ran throughout June and was supported by Tapper Funeral Service. Supporters were invited to dedicate a yellow ribbon in memory of a loved one, which was displayed in the garden in Seldown Road.

Corporate fundraiser, Hannah Parsons, said: “The team at Forest Holme Hospice provide support to more than 1600 local individuals and their families each year.

“We rely on this community to ensure that specialist care can be provided free of charge to those living with a terminal illness.

“We are overwhelmed by the generous support of this year’s appeal and would like to thank all those who took the time to dedicate a ribbon in memory of a loved one at Forest Holme.”

The charity has to raise £500,000 this year and for fundraising and volunteering opportunities contact 01202 670644.
