THE finalists for the prestigious What’s On 4 2014 Junior Awards have been announced – and Bourne-mouth’s Jewell Academy is one of them.

The awards programme is now in its eighth year and celebrates the best activities, classes, volunteers and venues from throughout the UK as nominated and voted for by the experts – parents and parents to be.

Little Gems from Jewell Academy is a finalist in the Best After School Club or Breakfast Club category, sponsored by BabyExpo Baby Shows, which means that they are in the top few providers in the UK as voted for by parents.

Little Gems offers before and after-school club provision, with plenty of fun, healthy snacks and great activities.

More than 85 per cent of children at Jewell Academy attend at least one after-school club and all clubs are offered to Reception and Year 1 pupils.

Chris Brown, the after-school club co-ordinator from Jewell Academy, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be nominated for this award, as we work really hard to make Little Gems enjoyable for the children, and offer parents peace of mind and great value.”

Almost 90,000 votes in total were cast from all across the UK, Ireland and Australia in all categories.

Every children’s activity, class, volunteer and party supplier in the country had the chance to be nominated, ensuring the awards were a true representation of the commitment of the UK’s parents and carers to recognise and reward the very best.
