FIRE fighters are battling a blaze in a house and barn in East Lulworth.

The call was made to Dorset Fire and Rescue Service at 3.55pm with reports of the incident involving the domestic property and nearby barn on Mount Pleasant.

Eight fire crews have attended from Poole, Wareham, Swanage, Weymouth and Hamworthy, along with a water carrier, with fire fighters using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze.

A spokesperson for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said that around 50% of the roof of the house and the entire barn have been engulfed in flames.
