UP TO 250 people could take to the River Stour this Saturday, June 28, 9.30am-6pm, for the 105th Christchurch Regatta.

Racing crews start from stake boats near Wick Ferry and negotiate turning marks just below Chistchurch Sailing Club at Claypool, before returning to the finishing line at Christchurch Rowing Club.

The two-boat knockout racing throws up exciting duels which can be seen from a host of points at Christchurch Quay and the Quomps.

Organisers thanked local boat owners and local organisations for the support that makes the event possible.

The competing oarsmen and women will be hoping to gain further wins towards their Hants and Dorset championship tally.
