A CHARITY motorcycle wash is being held at Poole Fire Station today from 3-9pm.

The group, Together We Ride, are set to be accompanied by staff from BLD Group, the UK’s motorcycle retailers, to host the event and offer prize draws, equipment and motorcycle technicians offering free motorcycle visual safety checks.

Ali Scott, founder of the Together We Ride Facebook group, has chosen two good causes to benefit from the proceeds from the event, at the station on Safety Drive. They are the children’s cancer care unit at Poole Hospital and Andy Culliford, a firefighter from Dorset Fire and Rescue who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2011.

Ali said: “We are hoping that a steady stream of bikers take part in the event to help raise as much money as we can for the two charities.

She added: “While bikes are carefully washed by the Fire Service, bikers can take part in prize draws, pick up information on biker safety and enjoy food and drink supplied by volunteers.”

Dorset Police’s Bike Safe Team will also be on hand to promote their Bike Safe training course and volunteers will bring the Red Cross Fess vehicle to lend a hand.
