A GROUP of local students have been taken to work at the World Cup by a Poole PR and communications company.

The Milk Round Ltd won a contract to run an online information service alerting TV broadcasters to recommended match and story footage.

Footage is being filmed by 32 cameras at each of the 12 match venues and stories are being gathered by more than 40 news crews travelling between them.

Milk Round director Steve Webb is senior producer on the project, working with a team of eight publishers, five of whom are Bournemouth University students or graduates.

Jasper Taylor graduated this year with a degree in multimedia journalism, while Evie Baudains, Claire Buswell and Toby Jenn graduated this year with degrees in television production.

Charley Packham is in the final year of the television production degree.

Mr Webb said: “Normally we would expect to recruit publishers – with experience on television production and multimedia publishing – in London, but it’s been really pleasing that we’ve found such exceptional candidates in Bournemouth.”
