A RECORD number of fundraisers took part in the Twilight Walk in aid of the new women’s health unit currently being built at the Royal Bournemouth Hosp-ital.
Around 400 women entered the event, which was started by GB Olympian Kate MacGregor, who cut a pink ribbon and also completed the 10k course.
Lindsey Sturman, fundraising manager of the Bournemouth Hospital Charity, said: “The awareness of the Twilight Walk event is at an all-time high and this showed with record numbers of people registering and taking part.
“It just seems to be getting bigger and better each year, which is fantastic and a real credit to those who help organise and support the event.
“We would like to say a big thank-you to everybody who took part and those who helped make the event possible, including our wonderful volunteers and our official sponsor Brymor Contractors.”
Next year’s walk will take place on Friday, June 5, 2015.
All those who took part are reminded to submit their sponsorship money to the Bournemouth Hospital Charity office as soon as possible.
