Bournemouth Echo: Delays after rush hour collision on A31 near Picket Post Delays after rush hour collision on A31 near Picket Post

DRIVERS are facing delays after an accident on a major Hampshire road this morning.

The crash left a white Renault Megane on its roof in the central reservation of the A31 in the New Forest.

Motorists are being held up for at least 20 minutes by the smash on the eastbound carriageway between Picket Post and Stoney Cross.

One lane was closed in both directions as the emergency services cleared a fuel leak from the road.

All lanes have since been re-opened but traffic remains slow.

South Central Ambulance Service confirmed two patients were treated at the scene for minor injuries and taken to Southampton General Hospital as a precaution.

Two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle attended.

Queues of vehicles are stretching back more than three miles to Ringwood.

Not again! Who are these drivers who keep causing crashes on this road? It's not the road, it's the people behind the wheel who are impatient, intolerant, stressed (often self imposed) and/or aggressive. There are solutions for those who want to avoid crashes... ideas anyone?

I overturned on the Christchurch bypass many years ago, had a tyre burst
and skidded into the verge and my mini flipped over. I could not control what happened. Perhaps was same in this case ?
