ROYAL Mail’s Broadstone delivery office is to close – and relocate to the Winton site some three miles away.

The centre on the Nuffield Indsutrial Estate will be moved at the end of this month, and staff and services will be transferred to the Winton delivery office in Poole Lane. None of the 19 staff will lose their jobs.

No disruption is expected to deliveries and collections – but customers wishing to pick up a missed delivery will have to visit the alternative site.

Royal Mail has said the Broadstone Centre no longer meets requirements due to an increase in the number of parcels it handles – and a decrease in letters.

The company’s delivery director for the south Shoina Rolfe said the relocation was part of an ongoing transforamtion which was “vital to put our business on a sound, secure and sustainable footing for the future.”
