WORK on the roads around Horsehoe Common in Bournemouth is set to enter its next stage.
Part of the Three Towns Travel programme, the area is being transformed to encourage more use of the common and tomorrow, Fir Vale Road will reopen to traffic, while major construction work continues at Old Christchurch Road.
From tomorrow, Old Christchurch Road will be shut between Madeira Road and Dean Park Crescent for around five weeks.
Temporary traffic lights will remain in place at Dean Park Crescent and put in place at Fir Vale Road and the diversion route along Glen Fern Road and St Peter’s Road will also stay.
Pedestrian access to businesses in Old Christchurch Road will be maintained.
Ian Kalra, head of transportation services at Bournemouth Borough Council, said: “We recognise there will be some disruption during this stage of improvements and would like to reassure residents and businesses that where possible we will keep disruption to an absolute minimum.”
