THE Lancashire Telegraph is looking to speak to Second World War veterans who served in Normandy during the D-Day landings of 1944.

Friday marks the 70th anniversary of the attack on Nazi-occupied France – the turning point of the war as the Allies pushed the Germans back.

On June 6, 1944, 61,715 British men landed on three of Normandy’s beaches, codenamed Gold, Juno and Sword Beaches, as part of a massive joint operation with the American, Canadian and Australian armies.
