BIRTHDAY girl Winifred Shepherd celebrated her centenary with a party surrounded by family and friends.
Staff at Adamscourt retirement home in Talbot Avenue laid on a party and tea with entertainment for Mrs Shepherd in honour of her 100th birthday.
Son Malcolm Annable, his wife Margaret and three nephews were all present for the party, with residents and staff from the care home also joining in the fun.
Mayor of Bournemouth, Cllr Chris Mayne, also attended the celebrations.
Winifred, who is known to friends and family as Win, said her secret to her grand age was ‘living a simple life’.
She said she enjoyed dancing and parties as well as spending time with her family and friends ‘having nice times’.
“I had a great father and mother and my father spoilt me”, she added.
She moved to Bournemouth in the 1990s from Leicestershire to be closer to her family, son Malcolm said.
She married her first husband, and Malcolm’s father, Charlie Annable in 1946 and later in life, married second husband Robert Shepherd.
