HE might be more used to totting up money, but an expert from a Poole accountancy firm found himself counting more than 20,000 toy cars.
Nigel Ballard, right, senior manager of the audit apartment with Mazars, was chosen as official adjudicator for a recent attempt to form the world’s longest line of toy cars at Beaulieu’s National Motor Mus-eum.
He spent three hours counting and checking the number – 24,189, covering 1.91km of the museum and grounds.
He said: “It was certainly a different type of accounting to do and the National Motor Museum has now had confirmation they smashed the existing Guinness World Record of 14,310 toy cars which was set in Fussen, Germany.
“It was great to be part of this record-breaking success and also get to see toy cars donated by such racing heroes as Sir Stirling Moss and land speed record breakers Wing Commander Andy Green OBE and Richard Noble OBE.”
