THE Morning After is the focus of a summer drink drive campaign which goes live in Hampshire on Monday.

Police in the county are urging drivers to remember that alcohol can remain in your system for many hours after you stop drinking.

Officers will be carrying out drink/drug operations at all times throughout the day and night and every driver involved in a collision will be breathalysed as a matter of course.

Police are also stressing that a drink drive conviction can ruin your life and asking the question: “Is it worth the risk?”

Superintendent Lucy Hutson, head of road policing, said: “After just four pints of lager, you may not be safe to drive for up to 13 hours.”
