Students reminded to claim money back on TV licence

First published in News

STUDENTS are being reminded that they may be able to claim a partial refund on their television licence.

TV Licensing South West has said studetns may be able to claim £35.67 back. Those who purchased a TV license at the start of the academic year will have three months remaining on their license and refunds can be claimed for that period. Students needing a TV Licence could be leaving their halls or accommodation and moving to a licensed address.

Richard Chapman, spokesperson for TV Licensing South West, said: “We encourage those who bought their licence at the start of the academic year to take advantage of it.”

£35 divided by 6 is not a lot even if they did get a licence when they moved in. Most think that mum and dad's home one cover them.

What? These lazy idle oiks spend most of their time watching tv so make them pay the full amount. They have plenty money for fags beer and clubbing so they obviously have money spare to pay the full licence fee like the rest of us do.

Richard Chapman is no more a TV Licensing™ spokesman than I am.

It doesn't exist as an organisation. It's a smokescreen to distance the BBC from its militant wing Capita Business Services Ltd and other associated hangers-on.

Richard Chapman is an Associate Director at one of the many BBC-employed PR agencies, Grayling.

Capita Business Services are an outsourcer, the are used by numerous public sector organisations including NHS, Councils, Education as well as Private Sector businesses. It's hardly a secret that the BBC outsource TV Licence operations to Capita?

I dont mind paying the licence fee for services such as radio 6 music and also the comprehensive bbc website. Adverts would ruin these services. Also some of the better Attenborough documentaries. And carol off the weather.
I have watched telly in the states and would hate for our TV to be as commercial.

Don't ever live long enough to get old, otherwise you'll have to call yourself a hypocrite.
