THREE locations across Bournemouth continued to be investigated by the police yesterday following the disappearance of Rui Li.

The nurse has not been seen since she left work at Poole Hospital on Friday and a man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder.

The police have focused their investigation on a house in Burnham Drive, Queen’s Park, a house in Wolverton Road, Boscombe, and the Cromer Motors garage in St Clement’s Road, Boscombe.

It is understood that the Burnham Drive home is owned by the man police have arrested.

Yesterday morning six police officers were seen searching bins of the neighbouring properties, with residents describing the officers removing every item and examining them closely.

One resident, who did not want to be named, said a woman fitting Ms Li’s description was a regular visitor at the property, usually arriving on a moped or in a silver Porsche.

He added that the man living at the address “kept himself to himself” and believed him to be the only occupant.

Victor Pitcher, who has lived in Burnham Drive for more than 20 years, said the road was friendly and was surprised by the recent turn of events.

“Almost everyone who lives here is decent and nice,” he added.

Cromer Motors, at St Clement’s Road, which is believed to be run by the man arrested, also remained sealed off yesterday.

Residents reported seeing armed response vehicles travelling slowly along the road in the afternoon, with officers peering into parked cars.

Police confirmed that officers seen taking number plates from parked vehicles in nearby Churchill Gardens at 4.30am yesterday were also part of the investigation into Ms Li’s disappearance.

A woman living close to the garage, who did not want to be named, said she regularly passed the man that is thought to have been arrested in the street and found him courteous and polite.

There also continued to be a police presence outside the house in Wolverton Road, with a security guard standing at the entrance of the building.

Joe Quinones, 41, of Wolverton Road, said police had been coming and going at the property all day “This has been a big shock,” he added.
