SWANAGE Methodist Church will be hosting a free recital by organist William Brown in June.
Mr Brown, who taught at geography at Swanage Grammar School and later at The Purbeck School, Wareham, was organist and choirmaster at St Mary's Church, Swanage, from 1978 until 2010.
He has given a number of recitals there, and at other churches locally and around the country. He is currently chairman of the Salisbury Diocesan Festival Group.
A Swanage Methodist Church spokesman said: “One of the most pleasant and relaxing ways of spending a summer evening is listening to a selection of music played by an accomplished organist.
“William Brown will be presenting and playing a varied programme of music by a range of composers.
“Admission to the recital is free. Refreshments will be available and there will be a retiring collection in aid of the church hall roof repair fund.”
The recital, on June 14, starts at 7.30pm.
No advanced booking or tickets necessary.
