ENVIRONMENTALLY conscious students in Bournemouth are being invited to enter a competition for the chance to win their way to Reading or Leeds Festival this summer.

The Student Recycling Champions competition has been launched by national drinks recycling programme Every Can Counts and festival organisers Festival Republic, in a bid to encourage young people to recycle more at music events.

To enter, students need to submit a 500 word entry or two minute video demonstrating a creative idea for improving recycling in a festival environment.

Six lucky winners will be invited to join the Every Can Counts team at either Reading or Leeds festivals which take place on August 22-24.

At the festivals the two teams of Champions will help encourage festival goers to recycle their empty drinks cans through games, competitions and other fun activities as well as having the chance to see behind the scenes of the festival’s wider recycling and sustainability operation.

The competition is open to students who are currently studying, or have graduated in or after 2013, from a UK university or college.

Entries need to be submitted by email to studentchampions@citypress.co.uk by midnight on Sunday June 8.
