D-day veterans take trip on Swanage Railway to new Purbeck at War exhibition
Five D-Day veterans from Swanage are being recognised by volunteers at the town’s steam railway today.
Marking the 70th anniversary of their crossing to Normandy, Ray Wiseman, Brian Guy, Peter Lovett, Lee Wrake and Cliff Brown will be taking a trip on a steam train from Swanage to Corfe Castle station, on the relaid Purbeck line, to view a new Purbeck at War exhibition.
The trip has been organised by the Swanage Railway Company.
