DORSET Air Ambulance has said a big ‘thank you’ to their helpers this National Volunteer Week.

The week will start on Sunday and to mark the occasion the Dorset-based charity have thanked all their volunteers for their hard work.

A spokesman for the service said: “We would like to say a big thank you to our wonderful team of volunteers who continue to represent the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

“Volunteering enables supporters to become more involved with a charity that is close to their heart. It gives people the opportunity to make friends, to learn new skills and to represent the charity in a more formal way.”

He added: “Our volunteers work incredibly hard on our behalf from attending events and giving talks to servicing collection boxes and selling charity merchandise.

“Together they cover 2,636 square miles between them. That’s a big challenge as you can imagine and we could not manage our fundraising activities without them.”
