DORSET residents are urged to have their say on county council services during a huge public consultation this summer.

More than 30 Ask Dorset roadshow events will take place around the county during June and July.

Council cabinet members and senior officers will attend the roadshows.

Leader Councillor Spencer Flower - who will be at some of the events - said: “By 2017, as part of the national austerity measures, our budget will have been reduced by a third.

“That’s a huge amount, and we need to make sure the money we do have is used effectively to provide services people need the most.”

Since 2010, the council has reduced its budget by £60million, and will have to find a further £43 million in savings over the next three years.

The roadshows will kick off on Tuesday, 3 June in Swanage, outside the Mowlem Theatre, and will visit 18 different towns around the county, with 34 events in total.
