POOLE became alive with colour this morning as a procession of carnival floats and cars travelled through the town’s streets.
The Poole Carnival parade started at Seaview Road and made its way along Ashley Road, heading to the family fun activities at Branksome Recreation Ground, to the delight of crowds of residents who turned out to watch and cheer.
It is the first time that the carnival has been held in the town for 12 years, organised by the Poole Carnival Committee, who aimed for it to be one of the biggest events since the 1970s.
Town crier David Squire spoke to Daily Echo ahead of the event and asked for Poole Residents to show their support for the event by turning out with friends and family.
Branksome Recreation Ground played host to a range of stalls, fairground rides, an arena, bar tent and marquee for the flower show.
