A PENSIONER was ordered to pay more than £5,000 in compensation for a spree of vandalism he carried out in March.
Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court heard on Monday that 78-year-old William Ellery admitted damaging six cars in Bournemouth between March 17 and March 28 this year, and asked for a further eight similar offences to be taken into consideration.
The offences took place near his home in Methuen Close.
The magistrates discharged Ellery conditionally for three years, but ordered him to pay a minimum of £350 compensation for each vehicle damaged, leading to a total of £5,015.
