EXPANDING communications agency Deep South Media (DSM) has recruited another journalist.

Former Oxford Mail news and feature writer Debbie Granville has joined the Bournemouth-based com-pany as an account director.

Her appointment brings the number of professional journ-alists working in the firm’s PR division to seven.

Debbie has spent the last 19 years in journalism and PR, latterly writing for the Oxford Mail and Times and its associated titles in Wiltshire.

She was highly commended in both the Press Gazette Regional Press Awards and the News-quest Editorial Awards.

A former press officer for IPC and its magazine titles includ-ing Woman’s Own and Country Life, Debbie has also promoted England domestically and inter-nationally as a press officer for the English Tourist Board.

In her new role she will provide press office, communic-ations and PR support for existing clients across the south and the west as well as developing new clients in the leisure and tourism industry.

Debbie, who lives in Bournemouth, said: “I am excited to be joining Deep South Media and its team of former journalists.

“The company is thriving and has a great reputation. I am looking forward to adding to its continuing success.”

Joint MD Andrew Diprose, said: “Debbie is a great catch for Deep South Media.

“We think she’ll be a hit with existing and future clients thanks to her blend of writing, people and communication skills.”
