Police have decided there are no suspicious circumstances after a 21-year-old man was found in the town centre with serious head injuries.

The man, who is from Essex, was discovered in Glen Fern Road at 4.30am on Saturday morning.

The force confirmed on Monday afternoon that they believed the man had been involved in an accident.

The man remains in a stable condition at Southampton General Hospital.

A large cordon was extended into St Peter's Road and Glen Fern Road on Saturday morning to allow forensic officers to examine the scene.

It's called gravity. Even a simple fall can cause serious injuries.

I fell over drunk once. Hit me bonce on that silver thing under the mirror that you are meant to hang your toothbrush in.
Then on my way down, swamped in unconsciousness my sweet face hit the toilet bowl rim (avacado darling, oh the shame)

I woke up on the floor many hours later. Great days, great days, it all seems a long time ago now.
It was the Saturday night that Mo and Jessica won gold at our Olympics.

Think the accident was going along Glen Fern Road in the first place. Even police normally stay away from there!
