THE Health and Safety Executive has launched an investigation after a worker fell from a crane at a building site in Poole.

A workman was taken to hospital with head injuries after falling approximately four feet from a crane onto a scaffolding platform on Tuesday, May 6.

The incident took place at the building site of a new block of flats in St Aldhelms Road, Branksome. The watchdog said enquiries are being made but warned the investigation could take several months to complete.

A spokesman from the HSE said: “The investigation is at a very early stage and initial inquiries are being made.”
