POLICE are hunting an elderly driver who badly damaged another car and drove off without leaving contact details.
The woman was driving a green 4x4 when she collided with a silver Peugeot 306 on Friday May 9 outside the Post Office on Gillingham High Street.
Police say the collision caused “significant damage” to the front of the Peugeot. The 4x4 driver got out of the car and checked the damage before driving off.
Police Constable Mike Henstridge, of Gillingham police, said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have seen this incident to contact Dorset Police.
“I also encourage the driver involved in the collision to do the right thing and speak with us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should ring Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident 09:282, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
