A CHINESE takeaway closed down on food hygiene grounds has been allowed to re-open after a “thorough clean.”

The Golden Dragon Palace in Northbourne was closed by council inspectors on Friday night after they found dirty food preparation and storage areas.

Inspectors returned to the premises in Wimborne Road yesterday and allowed managers to begin trading again.

Louise Jones, Food and Health & Safety Manager for Bournemouth Borough Council said: “Officers visited yesterday to carry out a further inspection of the business. The premises had been thoroughly cleaned and the business has been allowed to re-open.

“We are working closely with the proprietor and further visits will be carried out and the business will be closely monitored to ensure that it is kept clean and complies with food hygiene legislation.”
