BOURNEMOUTH’S Hotel Miramar has joined the ranks of the town’s highest graded places to stay after winning a four-star AA rating.
The hotel, on the East Cliff, is now rated alongside the Highcliff Marriott and East Cliff Court.
David Bailey, director of the 43-bedroom hotel, said: “Following recent extensive refurbishment and investment in the hotel we are absolutely thrilled to receive four-star status with a high grade.
“However, what pleases me most is that apart from the fabric and decor of the hotel, it was the customer service and excellence of our staff that the inspector commented upon.”
Hotel Miramar was an Edwardian mansion house and retains many of its original featured. It has recently introduced Nespresso coffee machines and i-dockers as well as free WiFi throughout.
It was favoured by Lord of the Rings author JRR Tolkien for its ocean views It is owned by the Blakemore family.
Mr Bailey said: “The hotel inspector even commented that some aspects of Hotel Miramar were akin to five-star, such as our concierge and porterage service.
“At the end of the day we are in the service and hospitality industry. Therefore making sure our guests are getting a first class stay is what we’re all about.”
