A TEAM of young people from Raglan Housing Association in Poole are celebrating after being awarded a judges’ prize in the England final of Lloyds Bank’s Money for Life Challenge.

The team of residents aged 16 to 21 fought off competition from all over England at the ceremony in London with their project Side by Side, a photography exhibition at the Quay Foyer displaying both sides of the financial divide.

Judges were impressed with the way they had opened eyes in Poole and challenged attitudes to money management and awarded the special prize of £300 and money management sessions.

“It feels a real honour to be recognised in such a way by the judges,” said Kyle Jenkins, 21, from Side by Side. “Money management is such an important skill and we have really enjoyed creating the project.

“We believe that our project has already made some people think differently about money through what we’ve achieved with our project and are already planning what we’re going to do to take the project further.”
