A Salvation Army member hopes to trace an ex-alcoholic she met while volunteering for the organisation.
The woman, known only as Betty, hopes to invite the man to a ceremony to unveil an illuminated cross at Boscombe Salvation Army in Palmerston Road this summer.
She said: “I met a man in Fisherman’s Walk in June 2011 who told me he was inspired to stop drinking when he saw a similar cross in Cornwall.
“I would like to invite him to see the cross we are having in Boscombe – I thought it would be a nice thing to do.”
She said the man was near the bandstand when she met him and that there was a charity event going on at the time.
He is asked to call 01202 309803.
