An 87-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Swanage.
The pensioner and his 58-year-old daughter were hit by a silver Kia Carens on De Moulham Road at around 10.20am this morning.
A spokesman from Dorset Police said: “The male casualty suffered head injuries and was taken to Poole General Hospital. His daughter suffered minor injuries.”
The elderly man suffered broken ribs, a bruised eye, broken cheek and cuts to his face during the incident.
Following initial assessments his injuries are thought to be serious but not life-threatening.
The male driver of the car and his female passenger, who are both in their 60s, were not injured during the collision.
Dorset Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to call 101 quoting incident 07:128.
