HUNDREDS of historic vehicles will be displayed at the Wessex Car Rally, set for Lulworth Castle this summer.

The inaugural event raised more than £6,000 for charity, with plenty of cars, motorbikes and other vehicles on show from across the UK.

John Brewster, of the Wessex Car Rally committee, says this year the event will be even bigger. He added: “At last year’s show we raised just over £6,000 for our core charities as a result of the generosity of those who attended.

“This year we can promise a fun-filled day with end to end entertainment and also modes of transport of all ages, shapes and sizes.”

There will also be a number of craft and charity stalls, an autojumble, live music, displays and entertainment for all the family, say organisers.

This year the event is in aid of Pop4Diabetes, The Welmar Trust and About Face.

The rally including discounted entry into the castle, takes place, 10am to 5pm, June 8.
