PROPERTIES in Boscombe are without power this afternoon.

A number of houses and businesses have been affected by the outage, which is being investigated by Southern Electric.

Initially, 2,500 buildings were affected, but power had been returned to most within an hour.

Currently, 333 properties are still affected.

A spokesperson said: "A fault was reported to us just before 2pm this afternoon.

"It was a fault with our high voltage network affecting customers in the Boscombe area. Around 2,500 customers were affected, but the vast majority were back on within an hour."

Shortly before 3.30pm, she added: "There are still 333 properties without power in the Kewick Road area.

"We hope to get everyone back on within the next two hours, and we'd like to apologise for the inconvenience."

Kick a community till it's down and out over a deep held belief that it's only scum that live in it. There is a growing sense of good community spirit here, I live in Boscombe and yes there are some run down places but it's so much better than it used to be. We all don't grow or sell drugs down here .
