A CAR is hanging over the edge of the lake in Poole Park this afternoon.

Police have cordoned off a section of the park because of the incident, and it is thought the owner of the vehicle is still unaware of the predicament.

Amy Snow who sent in a photograph from the scene, said: "It's in the main car park, near Seven's Boat Shed.

"It looks like someone has taken the handbrake off and it's dropped over the edge. Police are down here now, but it doesn't look like the owner's here."

The 25-year-old added: "There's lots of people standing around taking pictures at the moment."

A tow rope wouldn't help - the underside of the car is wedged over the edge of the pond. Pulling it would just scrape the underside and do more damage than has already been done.

To be fair, the only thing a recovery firm will do is drag it backwards with a tow cable, scraping it anyway.

International Rescue don't cover the UK.
