BURGLARS stole thousands of pounds worth of cigarettes when they raided a petrol station in the New Forest.

They also made off with six bottles of whisky alongside the £4,700 worth of cigarettes they stole from the Hinton Service Station on the A35.

Police said that a dark-coloured Vauxhall Corsa-style car entered the Hinton Service Station forecourt from the Dorset direction of the A35 at 3.48am on Friday, April 25.

Three people got out and used some tools to force their way into the shop.

The trio then stole cigarette and tobacco products and six bottles of whisky before getting back in the car, which drove off at speed along the A35 towards Lyndhurst.

Detectives have now released CCTV images of the burglars.
