A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of Danny Sherwood after he failed to turn up at Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court to answer charges of fraud.

Thirty-year-old Sherwood was due to appear in court to face charges of being a trader engaged in commercial practice which is a misleading action containing false information between April 10 and April 26 last year.

He is also accused of fraud by false representation, fraud by abuse of position and being a trader engaged in a commercial practice which is a misleading omission.

The charges relate to alleged work on the roof of a property in Vernalls Gardens, Northbourne. When he did not turn up at court, magistrates agreed to issue a warrant with bail.

Sherwood, of Wimborne Road, Kinson, was recently found guilty of seven counts of fraud at Bourne-mouth Crown Court after needlessly removing a chimney at a vulnerable pensioner’s home in Ross-more in September 2012.

Shortly afterwards, he appeared at Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court for a review of a community order he was given in December 2012 in relation to a public order offence for threatening behaviour.

The magistrates revoked the order and resentenced Sherwood, handing him a 12-month conditional discharge.

Sherwood will be sentenced for his latest offences at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday, May 9.
