RAP ATTACK: Velma the Velociraptor at Castlepoint

First published in News

VELMA the Velociraptor ‘escaped’ from Marwell Zoo to greet crowds at a Bournemouth shopping park.

The special pre-historic guest capped off Castlepoint’s ‘Shopping with Dinosaurs’ event, which has been a big hit during the Easter holidays.

She made four separate appearances throughout the day, posing for photos with children and adults alike. Velma has now returned to Marwell ready for their ‘Rise of the Dinosaurs’ event in May.

The zoo will be transformed into a Jurassic jungle and adventurers will be enthralled by animatronic dinosaurs that roar and spit at visitors.

The dinosaurs and the dinosaur hunt were really good fun for the kids (and adults). Although yet again there were no signs to say "queue here to have the s*** scared out of your child". We chose to avoid the "real" dinosaur but it must have drawn a few people in.

Thats all very nice but wouldn't it have been better for the kids if their parents had taken them out somewhere for the day rather than drag them round a shopping centre full of clothes stores?
